Fundraising for Buster F's Josi Stroller/Bicycle Trainer

Buster has severe, level 3, non-verbal autism and global delay. This causes task paralysis and poor gross motor skills. Buster often becomes a spaghetti noodle/brick during transitions. Buster also elopes. He must have another person with him at all times holding onto him or he must be strapped into a mobility stroller or wheelchair or he will run into traffic, water, and other danger. We have handicap tags for our cars for this reason to make transitions safer by being shorter.

Please vote for Buster if you have time today. He needs 31 more votes to be eligible for the drawing. Buster has severe, level 3, non-verbal autism and global delay. Buster spins, jumps all the time, never stops moving, spins toys in front of his eyes, elopes by running into traffic, bodies of water, and has no recognition of danger. He has pica and eats non-edible items like drywall, rocks, and dirt. He can’t walk across uneven ground like patchy grass or gravel without falling. He acts much younger than he is and at almost 4, developmentally the doctor puts him at about 8.5mths old. His receptive language (understanding is low) he can’t respond to simple commands like stop or come here. He doesn’t make eye contact. He doesn’t interact with his peers. He requires full one on one support for all activities and has his own para at school. He has task paralysis where if he is transitioning to a non-preferred activity he becomes frozen or paralyzed. An adaptive bike/stroller would help us tremendously. Buster is too large for commercial childhood strollers. Thank you for taking the time to vote! #severeautism #disabilityawareness

Every day when it's time to head into school, Buster turns into a total limp spaghetti noodle... his body just shuts down and he can't walk, even though he knows the routine. It's so frustrating as a mom watching him freeze like that, but it's his brain hitting task paralysis from the transition... not stubbornness. This is one of the ways that severe autism looks like for us.
