Slight photo alterations may be made by our staff in order to properly fit our site or email newsletters.
- A school, group home or organization can enter the Great Bike Giveaway in order to fundraise for an adaptive bike but they are not eligible for the voting component of the Great Bike Giveaway.
Contest Winners:
There are three ways to receive an adaptive bike.
- Receiving the most votes in your bike category.
- Win By Random Drawing in your bike category.
- Raise enough funds to receive an adaptive bike, based on your bike goal.
Winning By Most Votes
- The participant with the most votes in each bike category will automatically win an adaptive bike.
- If the vote winner with the most votes has received enough funds to purchase a bike, then the person with the next highest vote total will be declared the winner. If they too receive enough funds to win a bike then the next person with the most votes will receive the bike and so on.
- Funds raised by the vote winners will be allocated to other participants who did not win a bike or raise enough money to reach their goal. 30% of these excess funds will go towards the maintenance and future development of the Great Bike Giveaway.
- Votes will be monitored and any irregularities will be grounds for disqualification.
- Any solicitation of votes considered not to be in the spirit of the contest will be cause for disqualification. Examples include offering payment or prizes for votes, vote trading, and fake account creation.
- Schools and other institutions are not eligible to win a bike based on vote count.
- To vote you must have a Google account or a mobile phone that is able to receive a text message verification code.
- You can vote once per participant during the voting period. You can vote once for as many participants as you would like.
Winning by Drawing
- On March 20th, 2024 or later, drawings will be held to determine the winners of the Great Bike Giveaway.
- You must have a minimum of 50 votes to qualify for the drawing.
- The total number of bikes being given away will be determined at the close of the contest.
- Each of the winning entries will receive an adaptive bike.
Fundraising/Donations
- On each fundraising page, there is a space where individuals can donate money. Once the stated fundraising goal is reached, a bike will be provided to the child beneficiary.
- Consultation with a tax advisor is suggested for donations made to a family member's page.
- All donations towards a fundraising page that exceed the fundraising goal will be distributed to other participants of the Great Bike Giveaway at the discretion of Friendship Circle. 30% of excess donations will go to help cover the costs of the Great Bike Giveaway.
- Donors will also have the opportunity to donate $5 or $10 to Friendship Circle to help develop and run the Great Bike Giveaway.
- An administrative fee of 8-11% of all donations will be used by Friendship Circle to cover a portion of the costs for creating, developing and marketing this campaign. This amount will already be factored into the total amount of the bike.
- Any donation that is received after the contest is over will be considered a donation to develop and maintain the Great Bike Giveaway in 2024.
- All Donations are non-refundable.
If You Do Not Reach Your Goal
- On April 11th or later, bikes may be awarded to people who did not reach their fundraising goal.
- In order to be eligible to receive a bike, you must raise at least 50% of your goal.
- If you did not raise 50% of your goal the donations made to your fundraising page will be allocated to other participants who did, minus 30% which will go to help maintain the Great Bike Giveaway.
- The total number of bikes being given away will be determined at the close of the contest.
- Raising 50% of your goal does not guarantee you will receive a bike.
