Fundraising for Axel V's Freedom Concepts Discovery Series

Axel needs a specialized adaptive bike because a standard bike doesn’t give him the stability, support, or safety he needs as a non-verbal autistic child. Movement isn’t just play for him— it’s regulation, therapy, & joy.

If Axel could tell you himself, I think he’d say something like this:

“Hi. It’s me. I don’t use words the way other kids do, but I feel everything in a big way. The world can be loud and confusing sometimes… but when I’m moving, when the wind hits my face and my legs are working hard, everything feels just right.

When I ride, my body feels calm. My mind feels happy. I’m not overwhelmed — I’m proud. I’m strong. I’m free.

An adaptive bike wouldn’t just be a bike for me. It would be my freedom machine. My way to move with my family instead of watching from the sidelines. My way to work my muscles, get my sensory input, and show everyone what I can do.

I may not say it out loud, but when I’m riding, I’m smiling in the biggest way.”

As his mom, I see how regulated and joyful he becomes when he’s in motion. This bike would give Axel independence, confidence, and inclusion — and that is everything.

Axel needs a specialized adaptive bike because a standard bike doesn’t give him the stability, support, or safety he needs as a non-verbal autistic child. Movement isn’t just play for him— it’s regulation, therapy, & joy. Pedaling helps calm his nervous system, build strength, & improve coordination. His therapists have seen amazing progress, and an adaptive bike would let him safely explore without eloping, while giving him independence, pride, and a way to share joyful moments with our family!
