Since 1962, Abilities First has proudly partnered with our community to enrich the lives of more than 1,300 people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Every smile tells a story of opportunity, belonging, and meaningful support that empowers people to live fuller, more independent lives.
At Abilities First, we serve students with a wide range of physical and developmental disabilities who rely on adaptive equipment to support their growth and independence. Adaptive bikes are an essential part of our physical therapy programming. These bikes help our students build strength, improve motor skills, enhance coordination, and increase endurance in a way that feels fun and motivating rather than clinical.
From typically developing children who need to prepare for the academic rigors of school – to people with intellectual disabilities who need to prepare for independent living – to seniors who want to keep their independence and communities as they age, Abilities First provides the bridges and the resources.
