My son, Mason, is a sweet, kind, and loving 4 year old boy, who was born blind due to a condition called septo-optic dysplasia. In addition, he was also diagnosed with a very rare condition called panhypopituitarism, where his pituitary gland doesn’t make enough hormones, so he is on hormone replacement therapy. He also has adrenal insufficiency where the pituitary doesn't send signals to his adrenal gland. As a result, his adrenal gland doesn’t make enough cortisol, which is known as the flight or flight hormone. Even with all of his medical challenges, Mason remains a happy, outgoing, and courageous young man who loves to listen to music and audio books, go to the park, swim, swing, and play with his 3 year old sister, Madelynn; however, the one thing this dynamic duo is missing is the opportunity to ride a bike together.
Mason is blind and has a little sister and wants to be able to ride a bike with her.
