Francisko “Franky” Rios is an 8-year-old boy with an incredible smile and an even stronger spirit. He was born with Osteogenesis imperfecta, also known as brittle bone disease, which makes his bones extremely fragile.
Since he was a baby, Franky has suffered many fractures, especially in his legs. While other children were learning to run and play, Franky was healing from broken bones. Because of the repeated fractures to his lower extremities, he is delayed in his ability to walk. He cannot walk independently and relies on a walker, and most of the time he uses a wheelchair.
An adaptive therapy bike would mean so much more than just a bike. It would help strengthen his legs, support his physical therapy, improve his mobility, and help him work toward walking more independently. Most importantly, it would give him a sense of freedom and confidence that every child deserves.
Franky works so hard and faces every challenge with courage. With your support, we can help him keep moving forward — one pedal at a time. 💙 💛
Due to all his fractures to his lower extremities Franky is really delayed in his gross motor skills(walking) and due to the delays he does not walk alone he needs a walker and he is mostly in his wheelchair this bike will be a great help for him to loose weight and will help him allot with his ability to walk.
