Allison has two genetic disorders, one on her ACAN gene causing severe hip dysplasia and orthopedic issues, the another variation in her ASXL2 gene which is a neurodevelopmental disability causing hypotonia and balance/coordination issues. At 9yo Allison is still unable to ride a bike, and is very sad about this. She has been asking for a special bike for her “special self” for a few months now since she got her adaptive stroller and found out they made adaptive bikes too.
