Bennett is a medically complex, cognitively typical 8 year old boy who faces many physical challenges but also loves all things other children love. He loves to play outside, visits parks and playgrounds, have water balloon and Nerf Gun fights. Unfortunately, his myopathy prevents him from enjoying those activities independently. Bennett is ventilator dependent and requires physically assistance for all life activities. He uses a wheelchair for mobility but lacks strength to keep up with other able body children. We have tried other adaptive bikes in the past but having an adult pedal for him is his only option for bike riding. This bike would give him the joy of speeding down the road on a family bike ride, without the physical work that would cause pain, fatigue and embarrassment among peers.
