Lennix and her twin sister Charlee were born on May 11, 2013 at just 24 weeks. Lennix weighed in at 1lb. 6oz. She wasn’t dealt the best hand, but has never let anything defeat her. Lennix has battled NEC, Compartment Syndrome, numerous bowel revisions, severe reflux, Infantile Spasms, Cerebral Palsy, Cortical Visual Impairment and so much more. She endured a 203 day NICU stay and too many surgeries to count. Lennix has worked so hard and come so far. She is non-verbal, but hasn’t allowed that to stop her from communicating. Lenn is currently in first grade and utilizes facial expressions, head nodding/shaking and her communication device like a rockstar! Looking at her today, you would have no idea that she’s been through as much as she has. Lennix is strong, resilient, funny and can bring a smile to anyone’s face. While in outpatient therapy, Lenn loved utilizing the Rifton Tricycle. It allowed to her to feel a sense of control over her movement from room to room at a pace she enjoyed. We would love to give her the opportunity to have her own bike at home!
Lennix has always enjoyed riding a bike during therapy. She has worked hard and overcome insane odds. We would love to give her the opportunity to enjoy the bike at home as well.
