I want to first thank you for simply clicking the link to learn more. My name is Sherri I am the adoptive mom of Skyla. She was diagnosed with Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy due to a traumatic birth. At that time I was clueless as to what to expect in the days, months, years ahead. Today I am extremely honored to say she has been defying the odds time and time again. My girl is a warrior through and through. It is no secret I did not go into this adoption alone however 3 years later we are stronger now than the day her other adoptive parent walked out because this life was simply “too much”. Now I am a single special needs mom I am very limited on what I can do with Skyla and it pulls at my heart strings because she is a busy body and loves to be involved. My goal, I should say my dream is to allow her to be kid like her cousins and friends in school. To feel the wind in her thick curly hair, to hear her laugh uncontrollably because she just loves zooming around (she’s such a silly girl). I want that for her.
It would mean world to the both of us to be able to get out of the house together and enjoy some fresh air. Where we live we are limited on activities, parks etc that she can be involved in. I need her to experience every childhood moment that her little body can handle so that she learns that regardless of her disability She is ABLE. She deserves that and so much more.
We are grateful for any donation or share to help get the word out. Our journey is far from over and we truly love the support from all of our friends and family across the globe.
Thank You for being apart of our story.
