Malaurie's knees and elbows don't bend because of complete bone fusions due to her Pfeiffer's Syndrome.
We discovered the adapted bike program at Magnuson Park the summer of 2019 and would go multiple times a week. Usually friends and/or family would join in the fun. Malaurie loves to be outdoors, having the wind in her face, waving to other bikers and enjoying nature. Sadly, because of COVID we have not had access to those bikes.
A bike of her own would allow Malaurie to regularly enjoy this childhood pastime that we all took for granted when we too were 10 years old.
For Malaurie, it's the opportunity to be INCLUDED.
Living in the Seattle area, with access to an extensive network of bike trails, it will allow Malaurie to explore, and visit friends in a socially distance way.
