
When Mackenzie was 10 weeks old she started having seizures. Doctors did an MRI and noticed the left side of her brain was very damaged. Mackenzie is diagnosed with Sturge-Weber Syndrome, which required her to have the left side of her brain removed at only 7 months old. Before her surgery Mackenzie had multiple seizures including when her dad had to do CPR and when she coded in the hospital. She is partially paralyzed on the right side of her body. Mackenzie has had many other surgeries and procedures. She has been in physical and occupational therapy her whole life. Despite her disabilities nothing will stop her from reaching her goals and doing whatever she wants to do. She is so brave and resilient. All her doctors are amazed with her every time they see her. She always has a smile on her face and wants to be everyone’s friend. Mackenzie is so active and she loves to play. She wants to ride a bike with her friends. An adaptive bike would change her life. She would have the freedom and independence just like her friends.
